This week has been an incredible week where I finally realised one of my goals in life. After many years of study I achieved my Masters in Theology. It was a great reward for many years of study and dedication to learning, however, this is nothing in comparison to the reward that I am looking forward to when our Heavenly Father calls me home. Paul reminds the church in Corinth that they need to run in such a way as to win the prize; live your life in a way as to receive your reward because God rewards his people according to what they have done. Rewards don’t just come because you participate, we have to run in such a way as to get the reward. In the days that Paul was referring to, the reward would be a crown or a wreath that would eventually fade and die but the Lord encourages us that our reward will last forever (1 Corinthians 9:24-27) and there is no greater reward than spending eternity in the kingdom of God, the gift of life.
This week, let us keep our eyes fixed on the prize, that heavenly calling (Hebrews 12:1-3). Let us run in such a way as to get the prize because our reward will be magnificent! Let us be good to one another, reach out to those who need the love of God in their lives and live in such a way that is worthy of our eternal calling.
Have a ‘God’ day
